Strep Throat care

Strep throat, (known by people who care as streptococcus) also known as strep a. and is a common bacterial infection.

In a healthy individual with a somewhat stable immune system, very little needs to be done to help the body heal. Continued support of the immune system is crucial to any infection. Extra doses of Vitamin CVitamin D, (or 2 sessions in the sun each day of 15 minutes each) Also RAW Garlic can be used as a natural antibacterial agent. Try adding it into bone broth or soups.

I also recommend Gargling with salt water to treat a strep throat. It works by a rather simple principle: salt draws water from the swollen cells that are causing you pain and the inability to swallow foods. Not only that, but brine kills bacteria, decreasing the chances of the infection spreading. That's the theory anyway. Plus I just think it feels good.

As for an actual 'treatment course' if you have the finances to do so, and feel the need to actively help 'treat' the infection, versus supporting the persons' immune system & letting their body recover naturally. There are some remedies that are at least natural and  homeopathic.

Gelsemium 6Cis a homeopathic remedy well-known for its ability to reduce the symptoms of sore throat and influenza. It is also an effective hayfever remedy and has a calming and soothing effect.

Belladonna 30CA Homeopathic remedy used for fast relief of acute fever, pain, headaches, sore throat, swollen tonsils, dry cough and inflammation and is especially effective for illnesses which have a sudden onset.

Gallium aperine (also known as Cleavers)is an excellent cleansing tonic and has a particularly beneficial effect on all the lymph glands, including the tonsils. Gallium aperine is effective in relieving swollen tonsils and other lymph glands and is also recommended for glandular fever.

Beside the above alternatives, the best bet is ensuring proper rest, drinking extra fluids, and gargling 2-3x a day with warm salt water. The rest of the healing takes place inside, and is a superb mystery! :)
