Vit K, Hep B, and eye goop... are they REALLY necessary to administer to your newborn baby???

link to article on vit K:

at the end of the article there is a link to where you can get the vit K1 drops ~ Birth with Love .com  ...  You want the K-Quinone Vitamin K-1 by Scientific Botanicals  as it is the most easily assimilated by your body and is a natural form of vit K.  I ordered mine from Seattle Naturopathy Accupuncture and Birth Center.  I ended up calling to place my order because I'm so close to delivery but you can order directly from their site.  http://www.snabc.com/

Why give the eye goop???
"Eye infections used to be a major cause of blindness in children, and were often due to the same bacteria that cause gonorrhea or chlamydia in women."  So, as to not single out those that have this type of infection they give it to ALL newborns.
What does it do to the newborns eyesight?  Typically a newborn can see quite well right after birth!  Yes, that's right... they can see you and mimmick your expressions the very first week of life.  However, when the silver nitrate (and/or other antibiotic solutions) are put on a newborn's eyes they make the baby’s vision blurry for a little while. If the baby is given the drops right after birth, it can impede on the bonding process with the mother and father. You may wish to delay or avoid this process completely.

As far as c-section births ~ it is TOTALLY unnecessary and yet they still do it... weird!
