What to do before/after vaccinations in order to reduce risk

What to do before and after vaccinations in order to best reduce risk of reaction:
This is a from a combination of sources online and also my friend who is a Naturopath.

Children
BEFORE:

  • One tsp of fish oil per day up to a week before vax is given. It is important to do the last dose before the vaccine around 1 hr before the vax is given. (NOTE: purity is important- make sure you purchase this from a clean, pure source- EPA quality is extremely important)
  • Quercetin and Curcurmin (Flavonoids)- 3 days leading up to and one hr before the vax. These are VERY important, and believed to block many immune reactions to the vaccines.
  • 1200 iu of Vitamin E (minimum) per day
  • 500mg of Vitamin C 4x per day- preferably in a buffered form, not absorbic acid.
  • A daily high-quality multivitamin that does not contain iron but is high in B vitamins and contains Selenium. Also try to use one that contains the RDA of Vitamin A. If not, supplement this separately.
  • 2000 ius of Vitamin D daily (this can be done on a regular basis for immune benefits). 5000 ius for 2 weeks after vaccination.
  • 250 mg of Calcium supplementation per day. Helps the D work better, and calcium is always a benefit as we absorb very little from homogenized dairy products.
  • Work fresh celery and parsley into diet as much as the child will allow- it can be blended and pureed and mixed into foods, so long as it stays raw.
  • Optional supplements- Echinacea drops, raw fruits and vegetables (should be doing this anyway), fresh home juiced fruit/vegetable juices.
AVOID:
  • All seafood containing mercury, or anything that can possibly contain mercury.
  • Oils that suppress immune system and increase inflammation- like corn, sunflower, canola, soybean, safflower, and peanut oils
  • Aspartame, Sucralose, Saccharin, any artificial sweetener
  • Anything containing MSG (this pretty much eliminates eating out at any chain restaurant). Check your salad dressings and frozen chicken nuggets.
  • Canned goods- believed that the metal can leach off the cans and add metals into the bloodstream which further increases the likelihood of toxicity from the vaccines.
IMMEDIATELY after the vaccination, a cold pack needs to be placed on the injection site and held on there as long as tolerated. This needs to be repeated often over the course of the two days following the vaccine.
